Mattel Licensee Award
Mattel Licensee of the Year Award
Tony Gerard, Marketing Director from The Five Mile Press offered his thoughts on winning the Mattel Licensee of the Year Award to The Bugg Report. The award is given for the most outstanding sales growth and performance over the past year, and for achieving ranging and support from all major and book specialists.
“We were very surprised to win amongst the big names that are in the Mattel stable, and we have had a lot of fun working with this brand. Our team here, plus Rodamine Studios, have done a very good job putting it all together. Barbie has a great new look and we have just never looked back since signing it up late in 2008. We have been releasing a small range of colour and activity with each new DVD release from Mattel twice a year. This has helped to create a continuous fresh look and we compliment those titles with a good backlist of fashion related products such as paper doll dress up titles or similar, and the sales have been phenomenal. Its is very pleasing for us to have such fast selling books in a tough market like this, and we cant see any signs ahead of any slowdown.”
“The very latest release of Fashion Fairytale has been an instant top seller with our majors in the first week of hitting shelves. We are expecting over $10 million in retail sales by 2013. We are also looking forward to our new development of a stunning looking range of Fisher Price products for the end of this year and are very proud to have such well respected brands to work with.”
The Bugg Report would like to congratulate The Five Mile Press on winning the award.
