MGA Entertainment, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing privately held toy and entertainment companies, recently announced that after almost a two-decade partnership with Haven Global, Australia’s leading brand licensing agency, it will be taking the management of all licensing rights in Australia and New Zealand in-house.

“We acknowledge and deeply appreciate the long-term partnership and friendship between MGA Entertainment and the team at Haven Global who have managed our licensing business and delivered programs for MGA for nearly two decades,” said Mindy Puente-Escalera, Senior Vice President Global Licensing, MGA Entertainment. “Tom, Yvonne, and the team at Haven Global have been great partners to our business, and we have had great successes together on both a professional and a personal level. We intend to remain good friends and respected partners, and we wish them all the best for the future with all their endeavors.”

As part of the decision to take management of the MGA licensing in-house, MGA Australia has appointed Matthew Chan Director of Licensing and Business Development, Australia and New Zealand reporting to Egita Di Filippo, Vice President, Licensing and Partnerships. Chan will be based in Sydney and will work alongside Australian Managing Director Sapienza Salerno and the Australian team to manage and strengthen the licensing program for the MGA portfolio of brands including L.O.L. Surprise!, Rainbow High, Bratz, and Little Tikes, among others.

Chan brings broad industry experience working within agency, licensor, and licensee capacities.

“I am thrilled to join the MGA Entertainment family,” said Matt. “With the incredible growth trajectory of MGA brands in Australia and New Zealand, having one voice across toys, entertainment, and licensing will ensure we continue to build our brands holistically into the future. I look forward to working closely with our key licensees and retail partners to deliver continued success and expand the reach of MGA to more consumers in Australia and New Zealand.”
