New Managing Director For U. Games Australia

U. Games Australia is ushering in 2020 with a new branding direction, a new digital media studio and a new Managing Director.

After an exceptional 23 years at the helm of U. Games Australia, John Herbert has made the decision to step aside as Managing Director to take up the position of Chairman of the U. Games Australia Board.

U. Games Australia are also delighted to announce that Andrew McCosker has been named Managing Director, effective February 1st, 2020. After joining the company in 2004, and spending over 10 years in roles of increasing responsibility, Andrew was the perfect choice to spearhead the Australian business.

“This is an exciting new era for U. Games Australia. I have seen significant growth of the business in the past 23 years and I cannot think of a better person to continue the trajectory. We have had a focus on combining fun and learning, and this will continue into the future.” – said Herbert.

“I will miss all the great buyers that have supported me over my time selling toys and all the great staff we have had. What a ride! After 42 years in the industry – I am going to be taking time to travel initially but will remain accessible to the business as Chairman. I will also be spending a lot more time on the global toy market. To ensure U. Games Australia continues to prosper, we need a dedicated local full-time Managing Director.”

U. Games Australia began in 1997, as a result of a shared vision between Bob Moog (founder of University Games in the US) and John Herbert (Managing Director, U. Games Australia). The vision over 20 years ago was to be a leading toy supplier and focus on products that would make kids smarter, and parents happier. This philosophy still rings true today.

Andrew commented – “To be announced as only the second Managing Director for U. Games Australia is a very humbling experience. I am very proud and passionate about the business and what we deliver to our customers and I am very grateful to John and Bob for giving me the opportunity to complement the previous 23 years of hard work. We have an incredibly dedicated team here and 2020 is going to be a big year for us.”

With new releases in learning games, STEM kits and licensed products such as The Wiggles and Hard Quiz – U. Games Australia is set to launch one of their biggest ranges to date.

“Make sure you come and see us at Toy Fair – Stand L21. We’re really looking forward to showing you what we have in store”. – Andrew McCosker
